WEEK SIX AND SEVEN
During the past weeks at the Institute, we have hosted two exceptional speakers: Pliny Fisk and Steve Badanes. Above and below left, Pliny Fisk shares with our students his work at the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems in Austin and engages them with a game to revision the multiple uses of the sources and resources of the cycles all around us. Below center and right, students work on their foundations, bridges and towers from paper, stapes, tape and glue as assigned by Steve Badanes.

Below: Students hang their first conceptual designs for an affordable housing complex.

Below: Bridges and foundations are tested and compared.

Below: Professor and Jersey Devil architect Steve Badanes explains his assignment to the students. Guest speakers spend a full day at the Institute, presenting their work in the morning and spending time investigating sustainability issues with our students in the afternoon.
